Overview

Listservs are electronic mailing lists. They allow people with common interests to more easily exchange information using electronic mail. An e-mail message sent to a mailing list address is automatically forwarded to all subscribers to the list. The person sending the message does not need to know the electronic mail addresses of all subscribers, only the address of the list itself.  As people join and leave the list, their electronic mail addresses are automatically added and deleted from the list's set of forwarding addresses. 

Example:  If you want to send an email to all the Kentucky Wireless Initiatives members, you would simply send it to kwi@listserv.ky.gov

In order to promote improvements in Kentucky’s Public Safety Communications Interoperability, the Listserv was created to bring together public and private organizations to research interoperability challenges among local, state, federal public safety organizations.  The Listserv application serves as a bridge to freely exchange ideas for improving communications among public safety and government officials.

Public Safety and Government Officials.  The Commonwealth Office of Technology reserves the discretion to accept or deny subscribers to the Kentucky Wireless Initiatives Listserv Group.

If you want to join the Kentucky Wireless Initiatives Listserv, send an email to join-kwi@listserv.ky.gov  This action will communicate your desire to join the Listserv Group to the KWIEC Listserv Administrator, jim.barnhart@ky.gov.  An email confirmation of approval or rejection will be emailed back to you. 

If you want to leave the Kentucky Wireless Initiatives Listserv, send an email to leave-kwi@listserv.ky.gov This action will communicate your desire to leave the Listserv Group.  The subscriber will be automatically dropped from Listserv Group without any intervention from the Listserv Administrator.
